DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT - Artifact 3: Process Design

The systematic approach to designing instructional materials calls for the use of process models to steer design and development efforts. The following example is a model I designed to streamline the development of technology training and certification programs.

Context
  • This ISD process model was designed in November 2002 as a class assignment for EME5601, Introduction to Instructional Systems, taught by Dr. J. Keller.

Conditions
  • In my role of instructional specialist and lead instructor for technology training at the Center for Professional Development at the Florida State University, I independently designed a new model to govern the design and development of technology training and certification programs.
Scope
  • Unfortunately, the model was not adopted by the technology team due to a lack of support from upper management, and subsequently suffered the fate of an average class project that is graded and shelved after submission.
  • Ironically, the model contained all necessary stages of approval designed specifically to prevent projects from being developed without the necessary sponsorship.
Role
  • I personally designed and created all components in this artifact.
